Somatic Education . Integrative Somatic Therapy . Trauma Release . Bodywork . Conscious Movement

Anne Cousin was born in France, raised in Africa, and is a citizen of the world.

Anne is trained in multiple bodywork modalities and she has the rare gift of being able to read and interpret the messages from the body with or without touching the client. The body registers all our experiences and Anne is specialised in releasing multi-dimensional trauma from or through the body.

Anne approaches the body, mind and spirit as a unified whole.

It was her initial training in Shiatsu techniques in 2004 that spurred her interest in Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Taoist holistic concept of “vitality”, and in integrating Western and Eastern philosophy into her approach.

She has a deep understanding of the mind-body connection, as well as the body’s stress responses. Her Somatic therapy sessions aim to educate, ground and resource the client so that can reset their nervous system and develop more resilience to stress.

(“Somatic” means “of the body” and Somatic therapy refers to a holistic therapy approach based on the relationship between the mind and body in regards to psychological past.)

Her physical therapies uses techniques such as Shiatsu and Chi Nei Tsang to reinvigorate the body while also resetting the nervous system so that it can self-regulate. Her sessions have been found to relieve the symptoms of a wide variety of chronic health conditions, including chronic pain, tension, digestive issues, pre-natal discomfort, to name a few.

As a registered Somatic Movement Educator, a certified Somatic Experiencing® provider, a certified practitioner of Integral Somatic Psychology®, a Certified TRE® provider, and a certified Yoga teacher. Anne is passionate about inspiring her clients to become more aware of their body and their senses, as the awareness provides the link to the non-physical root causes that can be addressed. It’s the awareness that would resource the client long-term.

Anne’s private sessions and group classes often leave clients with a new level of body-mind integration. She also provides people with powerful tools that they can apply daily, to improve their quality of life continuously.

Anne currently leads regular TRE® sessions at iLiving as well as provide private or private classes of TRE® or TRE® with Somatic Experiencing®. TRE stands for Tension & Trauma Release Exercises, a self-help strategy that has been taught to military veterans and many people who have experienced trauma, as well as to the general public for stress relief and regulation of the body’s response to daily stressors.

She also offers private sessions with Chi Nei Tseng (Taoist Abdominal Massage), Shiatsu, Himalayan Singing Bowl etc.

Anne’s private sessions integrate the most appropriate tools she has on her toolbox for the client and each session is unique.

Anne also collaborates with our founder Anita Cheung in providing Integrative Breathwork Therapy focused on trauma release and personal development.

Starting from October 2019, Anne will be offering bi-monthly Body Awareness and Yoga group yoga sessions. She also incorporates assisted yoga stretching in her private bodywork sessions.

To understand your needs Anne and our team are happy to meet you or talk to you on the phone in order to give you the most appropriate recommendation.
