Kreamy Broccoli Spirulina Soup

makes 4 servings

This is a hearty raw soup rich in protein, minerals and antioxidants.  We like to serve it with a green salad and/or a couple of flax crackers to make a meal.


Chopped broccoli 1 cup

Spinach 1 cup

Raw cashews 3/4 cup (soaked for 4 hours if possible)/ or hempseeds same amount (no soaking required)

Spirulina powder a superfood green powder 2 teaspoon

Sunwarrior Sprouted Brown Rice Protein 2 teaspoon

Coconut oil 2 tablespoon or as desired*

Pinch of seasalt or Himalayan salt to taste

1/2 clove garlic or as desired

1 tbsp lemon juice (optional)

2 cups warm water

*Can replace with flax oil or coconut oil

 To make:

Place all ingredients in a high-speed blender and blend until smooth.  Garnish with fresh parsley or dulse.

Note: If you do not have a high-speed blender, hempseeds are easier to blend than nuts.  Or you may use a coffee grinder to grind the nuts first to achieve similar creamy effect.  (Soaked nuts are easier to blend though.  If you want to try to use your regular blender, blend and stop in intervals to ensure it does not overheat)
